Funeral Bills

Put money aside now for your burial or cremation, so the cost never falls on the people who are grieving you.

Get Started

The Service Itself

A casket or urn, flowers, the plot and the funeral home fee can add up much faster than most families expect.

The Family Left Behind

The payout goes straight to the person you name, and they get to decide which cost needs handling first.

Questions to Ask First

Health questions, waiting periods and how the benefit gets paid out matter just as much as the monthly price.

Why it matters

Money Is Hardest to Find the Week It's Needed

A funeral is planned in days, and the bills often arrive before savings can be reached. Settling coverage now keeps those choices in your hands.

  • Choices made while you're well
  • Payout sent to one named person
  • Money free for any final bill

FAQs

What People Ask About Burial Coverage

Short answers to the questions I hear most before someone picks a final expense policy.

All FAQs

Most final expense policies skip the exam. You answer a short set of health questions instead. A few plans ask none at all, but those tend to hold back the full benefit for a while.

Whatever is needed. The person you name receives the money and can put it toward the service, a headstone, travel for relatives or bills still in your name.

On many whole life final expense plans, the price is locked in on the day the policy starts. Check the policy wording to be sure yours works that way before you sign.

Some plans pay only part of the benefit, or return what you paid in, if death from illness happens early on. Once that window closes, the full amount applies.

Notes From People Who Planned Ahead

A few words from people who sorted out their funeral money early and told me how it went.

White lilies laid on a casket at a graveside service

My sister had to pass a hat around when her husband died. I didn't want my kids doing that. The questions were simple, and now I know the funeral money is there.

I figured I was too old to get anything at all. Turns out I only had to answer a few health questions. It took one sitting at the kitchen table, coffee and all.

I want a cremation, nothing fancy. I was shown how to size the policy for that, so I'm not paying for more than I need. My son is named on it and he knows.
